Applying Tax Classes to Products

What is a Tax Class

Product Tax Classes are based on Tax Rules, and Tax Zones and Rates, which determines how much tax is calculated per product. Each Tax Class is assigned to a Tax Rule, while the Tax Rules are then calculated based on the Tax Rates created. See their relationship inside the Tax Class configuration.

Applying the Tax Class to a Product

When creating or editing a product, you will come across Tax Class in the Product Details Page. Here you can select the Tax class for the product with the necessary rules and rates.

Each product can be assigned to one tax class (can be adjusted per Store View).
